OUR WHY

WHY does MMR exist? Of course, we exist for our mission; to Activate personal revival in men, to glorify God and enjoy Him forever! MTN MEN love God with all of their heart, soul and strength as they find a friend, be a friend and bring a friend to follow Jesus.

Ok, ok, but WHY are you trying to bring men together in Psalms 133 unity? WHY unify men to keep the main thing the main thing; 1. love God, 2. love others and 3. teach others to love what Jesus loves?

WHY are you trying to rally men across denominational lines to not "split hairs" but to "break chains"?

This is OUR WHY

Who are men today and how can we minister to them? ¹

  • Men today are the largest unreached people group in the country.

  • Men today are leaving the house. Men are most noticeable by their absence.

  • Men are struggling to believe their true identity and authority in Christ.

  • In 1960 – 8% of children were fatherless.

  • In 1990 – 22% of children were fatherless.

  • In 2020 – 33% of children are fatherless.

  • America leads the world in fatherless homes.

  • Men today are causing most of the problems in our society.

  • 90% of all major crimes are by men.

  • 100% of all rapes are committed by men.

  • Men commit 95% of all burglaries.

  • Men commit 91% of all abuses in the family.

  • 94% of all drunk drivers are men.

  • There are 15 male prisoners for every female prisoner.

  • Most men in jail have a deep father wound, experience abuse, anger addiction, hatred and unforgiveness.

  • 67% of young adult men seek out pornography at least monthly.

  • 47% of men over age 25 actively seek out pornography monthly.

  • Most men who use porn feel a great sense of shame about it and say they live in constant fear of being discovered.

    HOWEVER, THIS IS CHANGING!!!

According to 2025 Barna Group research, a "quiet revival" is occurring, with men—specifically Gen Z and Millennials—driving a major surge in church attendance. In 2025, 43% of men reported attending church weekly, compared to 36% of women, representing the largest gender gap in favor of men in Barna’s tracking history.

Key Findings of Men Returning to Church (2025):

    • Surpassing Previous Trends: For the first time, men are outpacing women in regular church attendance, a sharp reversal from historical trends.

    • Younger Men Leading: Gen Z men are the primary drivers of this resurgence, with many seeking purpose, community, and answers to existential uncertainty.

    • Rising Commitment: Data indicates a 100% increase in attendance for Gen Z since 2020, with typical young churchgoers attending services nearly twice a month.

    • Commitment to Jesus: The study shows an increased commitment to Jesus, rising from 50% in 2019 to 64% by 2025 among Gen Z, particularly driven by young men.
